In these "paintings," sound replaces traditional visual imagery. The objects consist of stretcher frames, sometimes with additional framing, but without canvases. Instead, strings are stretched across the frame, equipped with tuning pegs.

When one of these "paintings" is installed on a soundconducting surface — such as a wooden partition — the wall and the surrounding space act as a resonator, transforming the entire room into a sounding instrument.
